Lara Vyas from Natural Greenscapes was an absolute dream to work with. She took our many different design desires and utilized the very difficult land we had to work with to make an incredible new garden space.

I recently worked with Lara and found it to be an exciting, rewarding, and wonderful experience. Our back garden was sad and I needed help in choosing plants that would thrive given my lack of knowledge and time.

Lara took the time to meld my wants and needs with her experience and the results are astounding. We also added a raised bed berry garden and pots/plants on the porches. She was there every step of the way and beyond, coming by to make sure everything was growing and answering questions.

Lara came recommended to me from a mutual friend. Although I was not ready for gardening yet at the time (middle of winter), Lara visited me, toured the yard, suggested possible options for new planting as well as moving around existing planting that wasn’t doing great, and additions for a more aesthetic garden.

Lara has always been professional (right on time and with sufficient research done, options posted for your preview on Pinterest, plants shopped and ready for planting). We have also spent many hours planting and working alongside. Lara has been a great listener and has gently guided us towards a wholesome garden with all our elements of interest.

From the meditative space in the backyard, to reviving our organic vege beds to creating a beautifully balanced flower and foliage patch in the front, she has left us completely satisfied and ‘taken care of.’  Lara also designed and built a path that wraps around to our backyard deck and took complete charge of the work from design to hiring people to install to inspection.

She is reasonably priced, and a pleasure to work with. I have recommended her to all my friends who ooh and aah at the transformation of our garden.

Lara gave us an amazing edible garden plan! She put the design on large architectural style paper in a large plastic zippered bag, which has come in incredibly handy when we take it outdoors to work on something. The drawings are incredibly detailed as well.

The most useful part of the design was the handbook that came with it. Inside, Lara listed links to the various items that we had discussed (various fencing options, how to build a cold frame, etc). She included a task list, a plant shopping list with the common and scientific names as well as amounts needed. She included a small journal area as well. However, the best part of this package is the crop rotation plan! She has listed each of the beds and given us a three year plan!

Since then Lara has been back to our home several times to coach us, help lay out beds and teach how to create the raised beds. She has offered advice on maintaining or improving some of the other plants we currently have (such as fruit trees and raspberry bushes). Through it all, Lara has been a great source of information and support! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for edible/organic landscapes or gardens!

Lara was a pleasure to work with. I wasn’t looking for a full yard plan just yet – just a consultation to bounce ideas off of someone, get some new ones, and set priorities for this fall. She was very flexible in the way that she was willing to work with me and did not push any services that I was not looking for. She was great to bounce ideas off of and gave me many good ideas for how to enhance my landscape using many of the things that I already had in place.

In short, she provided exactly the service that I was looking for, and she went above and beyond the call of duty to research some of my questions and summarize what we had talked about into a follow up email and pinterest page. While I only used Lara in a limited way for this brief consultation, I would not hesitate to use her for a full yard plan, installation, or any of the other services that she offers. In fact, I hope to do so in the future.

She is very knowledgeable, professional, and best of all, her good nature and enthusiasm make her a true joy to work with.

We worked with Lara from Natural Greenscapes in the summer of 2012 to completely redo the landscaping of all the plants (no hardscaping) and to fix up some of the existing garden boxes. It was quite a big job. Lara is very personable and easy to work with, she did a good job figuring out what we’d want and created a diagram so that we could see what we’d get before diving in to the project. We were very happy with the outcome.

More importantly, Lara was really attentive and hands on through out the design and implementation process. The fact that we didn’t worry about a thing says a lot as my wife and I have a tendency to worry. She really went the extra mile on customer service. Would not hesitate to recommend.
